Plus-Size Belle

An old friend of mine recently approached me for some help with styling a birthday look for her. She revealed to me that she is now plus-size and needed to add some excitement to add to her birthday. I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to educate myself on the availability of Plus Size fashion as well as help other Plus-Size women by styling a couple of looks on my Instagram page. I knew that this would be an interesting challenge because I’ve often heard how difficult it is to find fashionable pieces within the plus size category. It wasn’t long before I learned that this rumor was true. I needed help, so I turned to one of the top bloggers in the plus size area, Marie Denee and her ‘TheCurvyFashionista'  website!

To my surprise, a couple of looks turned into a page dedicated Curvy beauties! I believe that curves are beautiful and what’s even more beautiful is CONFIDENCE! So, here are my tips for plus size styling…

5 Tips For Plus Size Styling

1. This is the most important step. Find a great selection of Plus Size designers and stores that fits your personal style.

2. When picking a particular piece, make sure that it covers your problem areas and shows off your assets! Remember, every trend is not for every body shape. This is also true for every size from a 0 to a 30. Acknowledge your shape and what styles looks the best on you.

3. Add color and print! If you’re shy about it, add it with your shoes, bag or jewelry. Make sure to edit and don’t overdo it with accessories.

4. Wear a good bra and Body Shaper. This is a universal rule that should also be followed by every woman and even more by curvy beauties. Let’s be frank, you have more than the average bra can handle so invest in a great one as well as body shaper.

5. Confidence is the Key! Before you step outside the door, check in the mirror one last time and make sure to tell yourself that you’re beautiful.
